Is it hard to find a speech language pathologist assistant job in California?

I am about to get my SLPA certificate and am wondering if it is tough/competitive to get a job as a SLPA? I heard it isn't but its word of mouth. I already have an internship coming up but they don't hire for SLPAs. Thanks!
