How do i train my dog not to run in the road?

Well the best thing I would say to do is to start VERY early with leash training. Start by teaching him to not pull and walk by your side and by that time you should teach him that whenever you stop he should sit right next to you immediately. At that point, you can teach him to sit at the curb and wait for the command to cross. It will take a lot of time, although I've had a German Shepherd and he was a GREAT dog to train, but in the end its worth every moment when your dog accidentally gets out and you find him out sitting by a curb hahaha hope this helps and good luck!
