40th birthday party for my dad?

I'm throwing a 40th party for my dad and am making it Prince (the singer) themed.So im going to have purple everywhere play prince and maybe have purple rain playing.Thinking about hiring smoke machines etc.does anyone have any more ideas of what to get!!?!!? I know he will love the Prince theme so there is no issue there! but suggestions would be great! its BYO so im not making any sort of cocktails for it either!?! I want the party to be awesome!
