What are some fields of study where I can specialize in working with and studying canines?

I have always been a big dog person. I love them and learn as much as I can from and about them, not only domesticated canines, but wild ones as well. I worked in kennels and under vets for several years, but I don't think the medical industry is for me. Is there any other fields I can go into that I can specialize in these wonderful animals? ( aside from the obvious dog trainer route.) And what schooling would I need to get there?
