Should i become a kennel hand?

I work in a pet shop and have been for the past 6 - 7 months and have found it very interesting but its not getting me where i need to be i really want to train animals so im thinking of staying at the pet shop for a few more months but not sure what i should take up next like becoming a kennel hand or someone who takes care of police horses i just want to build up my experience, confidence and knowledge of animals gradually
